Personalized Wedding Favor Shot Glasses
October 3, 2007
If I ever needed a couple hundred glasses (let’s say for the class reunion I’m planning), I’d definitely get them from Discount Mugs. They have fantastic prices on mugs and a huge selection ranging from cheapo stadium cups to fancy schmancy pub mugs. Plus, they have a product designer. And as the customized M&M’s post showed the world, I cannot resist a product designer tool.
For all of these fantastic qualities, there are a couple things amiss at Discount Mugs. The first is the psycho talking person that pops up when you go to the site (don’t say I didn’t warn you). She follows you around with an overenthusiastic approach to mugs. The second problem is that these items are not wedding appropriate.

Handing out personalized shot glasses to all of your guests sort of says “The only way we can stand eachother is when we’re drunk.” It also says “Let’s all get wasted and go home with people that we definitely, definitely shouldn’t be sleeping with!”
Of course, that happens at weddings anyways, so you might as well just forgo the shot glasses and let instinct rule.
The shot glasses pictured are available at Discount Mugs for just 79¢ if you order 10,000.

It also tells your guests, “please feel free to get sloppy drunk at my wedding. I dont mind, really. Act like a fool. I will evenprovide the shot glass for your pleasure.”

I don’t see anything wrong in getting personalized shot glasses. My fiance and I are getting married in April, and shot glasses are not going to be our favor on the tables, but we are buying about 75 personalized shot glasses, so when people do take a shot, or at the end of the night the bartender is going to give them away, as an added bonus. Just like were going to have personalized matches at the bar, and the outside cocktail tables, but I’m not assuming that everyone going to the wedding smokes. It’s just an added detail and another goodie to bring home.

Kimber…relax. We are merely kidding around.:)This is a website called Stupid Wedding Crap after all, so it shouldnt really shock anyone when most of us find these items “stupid.”

I know I’m a little late for this discussion, but my future husband comes from a really small town where the women and men are the best at eating, drinking, and backing it up. Therefore the eating was covered in the reception, but the drink was covered by the shot glass… Maybe not so stupid…HA, HA, HA..

My fiance and I are doing this for our wedding, however we did find shot glasses that double as votive holders and we’re going to provide alcohol and candles because everyone doesn’t like to drink. I don’t think the shot glasses say “let’s get sloppy drunk at my wedding” ppl should know how to pace themselves when necessary, with or without shot glasses.
